I studied Applied Mathematics at UC Berkeley because I enjoyed how much it challenged my critical thinking and problem solving. Looking to apply my math skills in a more creative way, I joined a Richmond, VA startup, where I taught myself how to code.
Pursuing my passion for programming, I co-founded a startup which won the VCU DaVinci Venture Creation competition. This launched my career as a front end developer. I continued to expand my skillset, teaching myself back end development and taking a General Assembly course on server side JavaScript and began creating websites using Node.js.
Working freelance allowed me to hone my web development skills and delve into new fields. I took quickly to Data Analysis and Visualization thanks to my strong math background and continue to expand my portfolio.
